Columbus, US · Part-time · $60,000 – $85,000

About this role

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center seeks a Staff Nurse (RN) for its postpartum unit, where the mission is to improve health through innovation in research, education, and patient care. This contingent/intermittent role supports a family-centered experience across 49 private rooms, encouraging birth parents and infants to remain together throughout their stay.

The staff nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and his/her family, directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. Daily work includes assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating, and evaluating nursing care in alignment with the professional practice model.

The nursing team partners closely with OB physicians, nurse midwives, pediatric providers, social workers, case managers, and lactation consultants, and collaborates daily with UCAs and PCAs to deliver coordinated, compassionate, and comprehensive care. This collaborative environment maximizes the patient’s involvement in his/her own plan of care and reduces the length of hospitalization.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to staff engagement, the patient experience, quality and safety, and cost-effective care within a leading academic medical center. The position provides a meaningful way to grow professionally while supporting new families in a dedicated postpartum setting.
