Requirements

  • Registered professional nurse in Massachusetts
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing for newly licensed nurses
  • Demonstrates initiative, knowledge, and clinical skills for patients with complex needs
  • Ability to effectively manage assessment, plan, implementation, and evaluation of patient care
  • Appropriate knowledge of growth and development of adult and geriatric patients
  • Awareness of potential risks of infection and modes of transmission
  • Utilizes universal precautions in nursing practice

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate a plan of care for specific patient assignments
  • Set priorities when organizing care for patients with varying acuity
  • Maintain continuity through clear and concise verbal and written communication
  • Document patient care in a manner that is clear, complete, and concise
  • Develop comprehensive educational plans for patients and families
  • Develop comprehensive discharge plans utilizing appropriate resources
  • Administer medication safely according to established policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with other disciplines and participate in quality improvement programs
