About this role

The Nurse Intern supports patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Assists with essential care tasks while fostering a therapeutic environment. Emphasizes hands-on learning and collaboration with the healthcare team.

Provides basic patient care within scope of practice, including vital sign monitoring, hygiene assistance, and comfort measures. Performs hourly rounding and purposeful patient interactions to enhance healing. Ensures timely and accurate completion of tasks.

Communicates effectively with the care team, including handoffs and bedside shift reports. Reports changes in patient conditions promptly. Maintains a clean, organized work environment meeting safety standards.

Develops clinical skills by asking questions, seeking feedback, and applying evidence-based practices under RN guidance. Documents all tasks and observations clearly and timely. Upholds excellent customer service with patients, families, and departments.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Nursing program
  • Completion of fundamentals of clinicals in an accredited Nursing program
  • 0-1 years of experience in a healthcare setting
  • Basic understanding of patient care procedures and medical terminology
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and team
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills for accurate documentation
  • CPR issued by AHA, ARC, or ASHI

  • Upholds excellent customer service relations with patients, families, and internal departments
