About this role

The Clinical Nurse is an engaged, credentialed member of the Professional Nursing Organization. Responsible for autonomous practice directed by tenets of practitioner, leader/decision maker, scientist, and transferor. Utilizes the nursing process to provide evidence-based care and ensure safe patient passage.

Assess, diagnose, identify outcomes, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care using the nursing process. Apply critical thinking to anticipate patient status changes and modify plans or elevate to the care team. Practice per ANA Code of Ethics to advocate for patients and families.

Manage interpersonal relationships and mentor colleagues to advance nursing practice. Assume authority and accountability for patient care, delegating to team members per policies. Prioritize and organize time to optimize outcomes in the intensive care nursery.

Seek current evidence and standards, applying them to daily practice while role modeling inquiry. Communicate effectively across formats and partner for positive change. Precept students, residents, and team members, contributing to research and quality improvement.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Licensed Registered Nurse with New Hampshire eligibility
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate required upon hire
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) Certificate required within 6 months of hire

Responsibilities

  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, identify outcomes, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care
  • Apply critical thinking to anticipate and recognize changes in patient status, modifying plans or escalating as necessary
  • Advocate for patients per ANA Code of Ethics, upholding autonomy, informed consent, and self-determination
  • Mentor colleagues for advancement of nursing practice and assume authority for patient care while delegating appropriately
  • Prioritize and organize time to optimize patient outcomes in the intensive care nursery
  • Seek and apply current evidence and standards to daily practice
  • Communicate effectively and precept student nurses, residents, and healthcare team members
  • Contribute to research, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice
