About this role

The Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse 4 plays a key role in leading nursing unit processes and ensuring the highest standards of patient care. Responsibilities include optimizing operational workflows, mentoring junior staff within the unit, and working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team. This role enhances efficiency and achieves organizational goals in a high-stakes neonatal environment.

Day-to-day duties involve performing advanced nursing care services, managing complex cases, and ensuring compliance with clinical protocols and quality standards. Nurses coordinate with various clinical teams for seamless patient care and provide support during critical decision-making. They implement improvements as identified to maintain optimal outcomes.

In the team setting, the nurse precepts new hires and trainees during probation, responds promptly to emergencies using clinical skills and evidence-based practices. They perform a wide range of procedures with attention to patient safety, comfort, and a clean environment. Collaboration supports breastfeeding guided by Saudi MoH 10 Steps.

Growth opportunities include contributing to strategic initiatives for improving nursing practices, developing protocols for patient safety, and pursuing high staff engagement and patient experience. Participation in the Clinical Advancement Program requires achieving 25 points in at least five categories every 12 months. This empowers nurses through the JHAH nursing Professional Practice Model.

Requirements

  • 3 years International Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Nursing
  • Current licensure as a professional registered nurse
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Minimum 6 years including 3 years in Neonatal Intensive or related field
  • English: Fully Proficient; Arabic: Preferred

  • Audit Reporting

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to strategic initiatives aimed at improving the assigned unit's nursing practices
  • Perform advanced nursing care services including managing complex cases and mentoring junior nurses
  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document patient care from admission through discharge
  • Precept new hires and trainees during the probation training period
  • Respond promptly and effectively to emergency and life-saving situations utilizing clinical skills and evidence-based practices
  • Coordinate with various clinical teams to ensure seamless patient care
  • Supports breastfeeding guided by the Saudi MoH 10 Steps to Successful Breastfeeding
  • Achieve and/or maintain the mandated set of activities for level 4 in the Clinical Advancement Program
