Join Sutter Health as a Staff Nurse I in the Mom/Baby unit, where you will perform routine assignments and develop competence through structured work activities. You are accountable for the assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient and family education, and smooth transitions of care.

In your day-to-day work, you will deliver holistic, individualized care to all patients, developing and implementing interdisciplinary plans that incorporate psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors. You will also foster collaborative relationships with patients, their support groups, physicians, and other healthcare providers through timely and effective communications.

Working within a supportive team environment, you will adhere to hospital policies, industry standards, and applicable regulations to promote a quality, highly reliable patient experience. This role emphasizes building partnerships with peers and providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives, all while ensuring the privacy of protected health information.

Requirements

Associate's degree in nursing.
Current RN license in the state where care is provided.
BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification.
ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (department required).
PALS-Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification (department required).
NRP-Neonatal Resuscitation Provider certification (department required).
Demonstrated general knowledge of nursing theories, medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook) and Electronic Health Record (EPIC preferred).

Responsibilities

Perform routine nursing assignments and develop competence through structured work tasks.
Assess, coordinate, deliver, and evaluate nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care.
Deliver holistic and individualized care to all patients in the Mom/Baby unit.
Develop, implement, manage, and coordinate an interdisciplinary plan of care that incorporates psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors.
Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare providers through timely and effective communications.
Adhere to hospital policies, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws and regulations to promote a quality patient experience.
Provide postpartum care and newborn assessments, supporting mother-infant bonding, breastfeeding, and neonatal stabilization.
Educate patients and families on newborn care, postpartum recovery, and discharge planning.
