Under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse, performs nursing tasks for which trained and has demonstrated competency through a skills checklist. Tasks relate to basic patient care and transport in the NICU setting. Ability to communicate and understand detailed instructions is essential.

Requirements
- Senior level status in any nursing program required
- Ability to communicate and understand detailed instructions relating to basic patient care and transport
- Ability to work and stand for long periods
- Ability to lift and position patients weighing up to 75 pounds
- Completion of skills checklist demonstrating competency in nursing tasks
- Training in pediatric or neonatal care fundamentals
Responsibilities
- Perform nursing tasks under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse
- Demonstrate competency through a skills checklist for assigned tasks
- Provide basic patient care for neonatal infants
- Assist with patient transport within the NICU
- Monitor and support vital signs and feeding for premature or ill newborns
- Help with positioning and lifting patients up to 75 pounds
- Follow detailed instructions for NICU-specific care protocols
