Facilitate student learning by providing effective instruction and performing evaluations for clinicals, labs, and simulated clinical experiences using course outlines. Supervise, debrief, and evaluate students to ensure they attain minimum competencies. Remain available to students via email, phone, or personal conferences.

Meet all scheduled classes, clinical hours, and meetings at designated times while keeping rooms clean and orderly. Collaborate with instructors to prepare, administer, and grade examinations, and participate in final course evaluations. Maintain accurate attendance and grades per FERPA regulations.

Attend New Faculty Orientation and Faculty Mentor Program to support professional growth. Develop a faculty development plan and participate in campus meetings, in-service trainings, and committee activities. Stay current with licensure, certifications, and safety regulations through ongoing education.

Requirements

  • BSN degree
  • Active nursing licensure and certification
  • No previous teaching experience required
  • Knowledge of adult learner characteristics
  • Ability to utilize online activities as enhancers to course content
  • Familiarity with current technologies and safety regulations
  • Skills for supervising students in clinical and lab settings

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate student learning, provide effective instruction, and perform evaluations of student learning for all assigned clinicals, labs, or simulated clinical experiences
  • Supervise, debrief, and evaluate students in lab, clinical, SCE, and similar settings
  • Be available to students via email, phone, or personal conferences
  • Meet all classes and other scheduled responsibilities such as clinical hours and meetings at designated times
  • Keep accurate attendance records, posting in the portal and submitting rosters timely
  • Assign grades and maintain course/student records in accordance with FERPA regulations
  • Collaborate with other instructors in preparing, administering, and grading examinations
  • Participate in professional development activities and maintain faculty development plan
