It is a teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Toronto. The Registered Nurse role is in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Mississauga Hospital.

Be responsible and accountable for decisions and actions in the provision and management of nursing care for patients. Ability to assess, monitor and provide care for sick neonates in a 2B level NICU. Familiarity with hospital, college, and unit policies, as well as unit procedures.

Requirements

  • Registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) or currently meet the eligibility criteria to register in good standing in the Temporary Class or General Class with the CNO
  • NICU Certificate preferred
  • Current or recent experience in NICU
  • Current NRP Certificate
  • Current CPR Certificate
  • Breastfeeding support experience, breastfeeding courses an asset
  • Ability to think critically and effectively in order to prioritize needs in emergency situations
  • Highly effective decision making, problem solving and organizational skills combined with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible and accountable for decisions and actions in the provision and management of nursing care for patients
  • Assess, monitor and provide care for sick neonates in a 2B level NICU
  • Apply familiarity with hospital, college, and unit policies, as well as unit procedures
  • Deliver customer and family focused care
  • Work co-operatively within the Women’s and Children’s Program
  • Act as a progressive, innovative and problem-solving team player supporting Trillium's vision and W&C Program philosophy
